The Moses Statue, which has been seen on forgingahead before, is the focal point for the Tulip Festival with lots of formal beds surrounding the statue/fountain. Added Monday Morning: I was so intent on doing stills during the Night Fire event that I didn't take my little Fuji out to make a 'Long Photo' until it was nearly over. Anyway, here's about 20 seconds of video. I was surprised at how loud the crackling of the fire was and how quiet the music was...in person the music seemed to dominate the aural environment. This was part of an opening night celebration for the Albany Tulip Festival. As an art installation, a wooden model of an old Dutch-style windmill was constructed over a sculpture of a tulip. Around sunset, accompanied by a specially written musical piece, the mill was set afire. In this shot, which was taken about halfway through the burn, you can just begin to see the tulip emerging from the inferno. We wandered the streets of downtown Troy for a couple of hours until it got dark. This building was in the process of being eaten by a massive ivy plant. There was a ghost sign hidden beneath the plant, but I can not make out what it said. Maybe my imagination, but all I can see is 'Go Fish' -- nah, it can't be that.
