Seaman Apprentice Me

There are very very few pictures of me in uniform. This is one of them.

I never took my military service too seriously. I served as a Naval Reservist for six years, and only a few months of real 'active duty' and that was up at Great Lakes, Illinois where I did boot camp and trained as a 'Radarman.' I was released to serve the remainder of my stint in the 'active reserve' doing one weekend a month with a reserve unit and two weeks a year doing some form of training.

I think this was taken while I was in Great Lakes and my parents came for a visit. Funny, but I don't really remember their visit, but the pictures prove they were there.
