![]() So I was fortunate to have found a night off a few weekend ago to go over to Tanglewood in Lenox, Massachusetts for their annual Jazz Festival. This group, the Regina Carter Quartet, was a real treat. Ms Carter could make that violin make sounds I have never heard from a violin! And that strange instrument on the left is a West African kora which also makes some truly interesting music. Much of the program was contemporized versions of traditional music from Mali, Senegal, and Uganda. It will be released later this year in a collection called Reverse Thread. | |
