I did another studio workshop this evening. The goal was learning to 'pose a mode' so we each chose a 'theme' and tried to get an image expressing that idea. When told I had to select a theme I said, 'Oh No!' That became my theme.

So here the idea was to use the model to express that concept. I was definitely out of my element. Most others in the group had worked with models before. I haven't, so I floundered when it was my turn. I'm pretty sure though that it is all about experience. The more you do it to more you learn...like most things in life. I'm not really interested in shooting models, but do want the to learn how to do this so I can perhaps begin to shoot portraits of regular people in studio-like settings. The practice with models will help me to get control of lots of important technical elements like composition, lighting, exposure, setting, clothing, make up, hair, hand position, body position, backgrounds, etc....seems the list of elements that must be controlled in studio work is endless.
