Used Bookstore
EXIF: KONICA MINOLTA MAXXUM 5D | 1/10 sec | f 8.0 | 35.0mm (35mm equivalent: 52.0mm) | ISO 400

While speaking with my mother last night she reminded me of my prior desire to own a used bookstore. It was sort of a pie-in-the-sky dream I had. Buy an old house, convert its many rooms to comfy sitting spaces with lots of shelves, have a cozy fireplace in the main room where folks could congregate, sip tea, discuss the events of the day... But I could never figure out how to actually make money doing it. I have no background in retail so it just always seemed an insurmountable goal.

Used bookstores seem to come in a few flavors. There are the meticulously organized one where finding a specific book can be as easy as a stroll through the local library. Then there are those, like the one pictured here, where there is a veneer of order (the novels are on that shelf, the history books in that room, etc.) but in reality the books are merely piled for the convenience of the overwhelmed owner. Something tells me I would have had the latter type of bookstore. That can be fun too, makes shopping for books a real adventure in 'what will I find on this shelf?'
