![]() Certainly not one of the more stimulating shots I have ever posted. Let's say I am posting a real 'what I did today' sort of blog post. A day in Knoxville, meeting first with folks from Oak Ridge National Laboratory, then off for a field visit to the Knoxville Weigh Station. One of the most active truck inspection sites in the United States (some say it is THE most active site), this weigh station had a constant flow of big trucks both past it on the highway (allowed to pass by in-pavement sensors that weigh the trucks in motion and prior certification for a program) and directed through the station for a closer look. My interest is with the lower right monitor which is displaying the output from a thermal camera mounted outside the building. Glad to find there is a lot of room for improvement, which is what my job is. This is a site I will probably return to many times over the next couple of years. More good work news, as our proposal for advanced work on a project for the Air Force was selected for funding. | |
